I’m Peter Jones — a freelance designer and art director based in the North East.
I work with agencies, in-house teams, and direct clients. Sometimes I lead a project from the first chat to final delivery. Other times I join an existing team and help you get the work over the line.
What I do
Most of my work sits in brand identity and campaign design. That includes the core identity, the system around it, and the day-to-day design that brings it to life across digital and print.
I’m comfortable working from a blank page, but I’m just as happy jumping into an established brand and refining what’s already there.
How I work
I’m collaborative by default. I ask the right questions early, keep things clear, and make sure decisions don’t drift.
You’ll get someone who can think strategically, design with intent, and deliver clean, organised files that your team can actually use.
I’m also happy working white-label for agencies — plugging into your process and helping you deliver work that feels seamless to the client.
Experience
Over the years I’ve worked across a mix of sectors — from industry and tech to sport, lifestyle and care. The common thread is always the same: help people communicate clearly and look like they mean it.
Alongside freelance work, I also teach Graphic Design at The Northern School of Art. Teaching keeps my thinking sharp and my process honest. It also means I’m used to explaining design decisions clearly, without disappearing into interpretive dance.
Location / availability
I’m based in the North East and work remotely with clients anywhere. I’m also available in person when needed.
